Hotels in NYC in the fall can be expensive.
Last year when I was running a conference at Fordham, a colleague put me onto the Unitarian Universalist Guesthouse, which was very reasonable and pleasant, though not fancy. www.ccny.org/guesthouseoffpark/
It’s not super close to Lincoln Center, but for what you’ll save on average hotel prices, you can easily afford a cab there and back, which will run you about $8-12.
